Mrs. Socola has been the Director of Bands in Beal City since 2021.
She found her love of music and for teaching while serving as the drum major of the Marching Aggies in 2013 & 2014. After graduating from Beal City High School she went on to pursue music at Eastern Michigan University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education. While at EMU, she performed with the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, EMU Women's Choir, and The EMU Marching Band. Mrs. Socola also worked as the music librarian at WEMU; a jazz, blues, and NPR station in the Ypsilanti area.
Mrs. Socola student taught at Brownstown Middle School in Romulus, MI; teaching 5th-7th grade band and computers classes as well as teaching private lessons. After graduating in the Spring of 2020 she started her career working for several private schools in the Lansing area where she taught elementary music, middle school general music, and technology classes. She began teaching at Beal City in 2021 and is very excited to continue teaching at her alma mater. In her free time, Mrs. Socola enjoys spending time with her family and exploring nature.
